For Evaluations

Step 1

  1. Download and Run MiTeC Network Scanner
  2. When it opens, click ‘Preferences’, select all Checkboxes under ‘Deep Scan’ (Unles there is no domain, if so leave that one blank)
  3. Click on the Icon with ‘000.x.x’ and 255.x.x.
  4. Type in Domain Name / Admin Username / Password if Applicable.
  5. Run Scan, When finished highlight all data (Ctrl-A)
  6. Click on ‘Save As’, and upload that CSV file to ITsupportRI via the form in Step 2 (Don’t hit ‘export data’, program will crash)
  7. Document the business’ IP via using www.whatsmyip.com

Step 2

  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
  • Accepted file types: csv, pdf, Max. file size: 50 MB.

Step 3

  1. Back at ITSRI HQ, download data file to PC
  2. Open a blank Excel sheet
  3. Click “Data” at the top and “From Text/CSV”
  4. When choosing separator, pick “Semicolon” from the drop down under “Delimiter” and click “Load”.
  5. It should populate all fields. Verify and save as new file.
  6. Save that to the prospect’s “Opportunities” folder.

Other Scanners

If initial Network Scanner Tool does not work, then use:

  1. PortScan & Stuff 
  2. Advanced Port Scanner

When performing a Network Evaluation:

  1. Fill out this checklist.
  2. Scan the server (if available).
  3. Run scanner on a workstation (if Server not available).
  4. Manually write everything down (if no system access).
