IT Support RI Ranked 5th Fastest Growing Company for 2022 by PBN
IT Support RI has been named as one of Rhode Island’s Fastest Growing Companies for 2022 by the Providence Business News. The following is the article written by Kimberley Edgar of the PBN.
WHILE ONE BOSS was traveling, a hacker hijacked the company chief’s email and directed company accountants to wire six figures to a fake company. It’s a true story that North Smithfield-based IT Support RI hears all too often when southern New England’s small and midsize businesses come calling after suffering staggering losses due to a lack of cybersecurity.
As more businesses wise up to phishers and cyberscammers, they are hiring IT Support RI to build, maintain and monitor firewalls to prevent cyberattacks. Revenue grew by 43.3% to $4.1 million last year compared with
$2.8 million in 2019, with projections to reach $4.7 million this year. IT Support RI emphasizes cybersecurity in its package of services: email maintenance, everyday help desk and voice-over internet protocol phones.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company made house calls setting up hardware, installing software and transitioning to cloud systems for hybrid and remote work. “We did whatever we could to help our clients succeed,” Sales Manager Tony Folco said. “We do it all for them.”

Thirty local companies and organizations are among both the highest earners and the most innovative as part of Providence Business News’ 2022 Fastest Growing & Innovative Companies awards program. The 20 Fastest Growing companies to be recognized this year had the highest percentage growth in revenue of all applicants from 2019 to 2021. The companies were named in four separate revenue categories – $250,000 to $5 million; $5 million to $25 million; $25 million to $75 million; and $75 million and above.
The 2022 Innovation winners were chosen by a panel of judges for devising and producing innovative ideas and products.
